Dear Bikes,

I look at you every day, and I kept help but sigh deeply on how lucky I am to have met you.  It is only you that I feel knows me inside and out.  Whenever I need to escape, you take me by the hands and take me far away.  You take me to places that I thought were specks in someone’s imagination.  However, I jump on you, and I am instantly there. Even when I’m feeling down, you are there for me to make a quick getaway.

Yes, we’ve had some rough times. I remember how many times I fell when I first changed to clips.  Now, I understand that I have to move my feet outwards to clip out of the pedal instead of the usual forward approach that I used to take.  Even when I skinned my elbow pretty badly, you were there to whisk away to my first aid kit.  You were very apologetic about the clips, but you knew that it would make me a stronger and faster biker.

Whenever I drop you off to get a tune up or get a new enhancement, I feel empty driving away with a bike rack with no bike.  I keep looking back hoping to see you miraculously appear on it, but I know that I will have to be patient and await your return.  It’s worth it because when you return, you are glistening and fresh, and are ready to go on our next adventure.

I just wanted to say thank you to you with this love letter and tell you that you are the best.  It will always be you and me.

Love,

Shevonne

PS. When are we going out for a ride?
